I've been messing about with my laptop over the last week or so and
installed the linux OS Ubuntu Feisty in a Dual Boot system with my
previously installed WinXP SP2.

Now on my WinXP I have Zone Alarm Firewall, Avast Anti-Virus and Ad-Aware
Spyware. I'm going to be using one of my partionions as a shared drive for
music and videos, so have looked at Firestarter (Firewall) and Avast
Anti-Virus for Linux, but is there any spyware apps for linux or do you not
need it?
I may be switching between systems to download mp3's etc.. so want to be
safe whatever OS system I'm running, well that is until I'm fully happy with
Ubuntu and ditch WinXP.

I know theres loads of spyware available, I was looking for recommendations,
should have been more explicit.

I've been on this newsgroup before for advice on security for Windows XP so
was just asking about Linux to see what people thought?

No you were asking if you needed it for Linux
>but is there any spyware for linux or do you not need it?
and since their are software for it the answer would be yes you do need it!
As for which ones are best....maybe you should ask in a Linux newsgroup.
