Well, this is a strange one. I'm assuming I have some undetected Trojan that
has just activated itself on my other desktop. When I attempt to logon, the
"Password" field automatically fills itself in with a very long string of
asterisks. If I attempt to clear the field to reenter, it automatically
re-fills itself with long asterick strings over and over. It is not entering
my password which is a shorter string. Have been doing regular updates of
McAfee Firewall, McAfee VirusScan, and Spysweeper 3.5.0. None of these had
detected anything. I am unwilling to use the machine or leave it running (on
DSL connection) until I resolve this. I have looked at various sites seeking
a "Match" of this symptom with a known virus or Trojan. Again, I came up
empty-handed. Help is appreciated!!!

The answer is quite simple. You have a stuck key. Try another keyboard.
