What is this ASPNET entered into my login screen? jbclem 09-03-2006

Using Windows 2000, every so often when I reboot and the login screen comes up,
instead
of my usual login name typed in place (awaiting the password on the next line),
there
will be the word ASPNET entered instead of my login name.

Can someone suggest where this is coming from...is it some kind of viral or
malicious
attack and what should I do about it. It hasn't happened too often so far, and
I just
erase it and type in my correct login name and continue on.

Any suggestions about this?

jc

Yeah, and MS says I'm supposed to update my ASPnet / DotNet
application. But when I try to update, the update program says I
don't have it. But it's there.

Now that I've got these things, what can I do with them? Might as
well have some fun!

Awaiting your responses with baited breath, I remain, yours truly,

Go to Windows Update and choose the Custom option. Apply any patches and
service packs to .Net 1.1.

Are you the Original Poster? If not, make a new post and explain your
situation, the problems you are having, and what you've already done to
troubleshoot. If you are having an issue logging in, perhaps it has
nothing to do with .Net 1.1.
