Hello,

Websites for WINANTIVIRUS and WINFIXER keep appearing on my computer without
me even being in Internet Exlorer. There are also pop-ups associated with
these websites that show up as well. How do I get rid of these and how did
they get on my PC. Looks like they just started to show up in the past week.

If I do a system restore back to 11/1/05 (when I know this wasn't an issue),
will it resolve this? I first tried to delete any references to these from my
registry, but must not of found everything since WINFIXER still showed up.

Thank you,

Jason

The following will help you remove the WinFixer 2005, its associates and other
adware/spyware found.

Hello,

You may wish to try Super Ad Blocker with SUPERAntiSpyware:
http://www.superadblocker.com

Super Ad Blocker | SUPERAntiSpyware offers several unique features such as
using a system level driver to delete detected items, so pests do not come
back once detected and cleaned.

Super Ad Blocker offers a fully functional 15-day trial. You can scan and
clean your computer and then remove Super Ad Blocker if you do not wish to
keep it. We do appreciate when users support our development efforts by
purchasing the product :)

If that does not find and/or remove the spyware/adware on your machine, you
can submit a diagnostic and I will diagnose your machine for free and post
the results back to the group and update our rules with anything found:
http://www.superadblocker.com/diagnostic.html?id=nicks

You may also wish to "see" what is running on your computer here:

Mr. Skrepetos,

I have also contracted the Winfixer virus. It takes 10-20 minutes on a DSL
line to download a simple plain text e-mail from Outlook, and I cannot
navigate the web... pages never fully load, and downloads are basically
impossible. because of this, I had a friend go to your website
(www.superadblocker.com) and download the 4.46meg .exe file and burn it to a
CD for me. I then started to install it on my computer. It went through the
"Wizard" pretty fast, however during the process of installing, the program
tries to go out to a server (your company?) to get "updates" or "definitions"
or something... anyhow, as I said earlier... Downloads are Impossible. So,
after waiting for 25 to 30 minutes while it looks for whatever it is looking
for, I go to the "Task manager" and of course it says "Not Responding". How
can I use your product? Any ideas would be extremely helpful.

Billy,

I received your direct e-mail and will send you instructions and a .ZIP
of the new rules so you can remove WinFixer problem. I can also update
the group as to the findings. My hunch is that is like all the rest
where they are using the kernel driver/rootkit to guard/hide their
files and a safe mode scan will do the trick.
