Doing a search for info on this virus (w32/behavior/self
starter/internet/trojan!/maximus) mostly points me to *this* site, but I
don't find anything here about it.

Caught by Symantec but it can't disinfect.

Update AV s/w, reboot in safe mode, do a full scan.

Is that the 'take two aspirin' prescription?

Please, excuse me for what I am saying , but your post is too poor
It contains no useful information

The detection with names " !maximus" are not detected by Symantec products
since this "!maximus" is a bot which was developed by an F-prot guy to
analyze samples , in other words - "!maximus" names refer to F-prot antivirus
or F-prot OEM AV products

Please , redesign your post with more useful information so that we can help
you.This should help:

Regards!

You have the naming convention WRONG and that is important.

w32.behavior.selfstarter.internet.trojan!maximus is probably more like it as
this is teh
way F-Prot engines based scanners calls Heuristically detected files.
