The wonderful husband won't stop downloading porn (and I don't even
care about the porn- I told him to get mags instead! Just stop
downloading that crap to my systems, they download virus too!) It's
messed up two computers in the very same way . I have no idea how to
fix them. (Best beleive I'm installing a internet monitor after this.
Any recommends by the way? I want one that prevents him from visiting
these sites or any other malicious sites period-).

(Running Win 2000 Pro) Everything seemed fine until I saw on Mozilla's
download screen some of hubby's pics that were downloaded. When I
found out what they were I went to run Spybot to clean up the mess
(there always is a mess after his downloads). When I ran Spybot, it
searched through my .dll's and boot record- seemed like i was clean
there and then bam- the moment the search finds the bug it either goes
into a 'fuzzy snow screen' or goes black. If I use any kind of virus
detection software (I didn't use Norton- I used AVG), it SEEMS the
moment it's detected, the screen goes black. I have no proof of that,
it's just this only happens when the computer is scaning for parasites
and viruses and it happens somewhere in the middle of the scan. I
regain the monitor upon reboot. As long as I don't run a scan, my
computer acts normal (for now anyway).

The other computer I have just gives me a fuzzy illegible or black
screen in almost five minutes after boot.
IT seems that this thing starts on upon being detected and then gets
worse.

I thought it was the W32.Klez@mm virus, but I ran the only fix I could
find ( by Symantec) for that in Safe Mode and their was no detection of
it or any variations. Now I just have no idea what this is. DAMN! I
have to scrap the whole drive and start over again (what a pain).

I've checked the Power options and it's interesting to note that the,
"UPS (Uninteruptible Power Service) has currently been stopped", with
no
options available for turning it back on. A triangle with the
exclamation appears next to this notice as if the computer is saying
"What the F@#$".

Sorry about the crassness, I'm just upset.

If anyone knows anything about this, please do tell. Thanks!

You've gotten quite a lot of detailed answers in the other newsgroup to
which you posted. There is no need to make a new post here. If you've
forgotten where you posted, search for your name on Google Groups Advanced
Search.

Oh, well I wouldn't have, but someone else suggested that I try here.
So I did. Sorry.

In my opinion your sytems are probably hosed:

There's more than one strategy for removing malware:

[Note .. please ignore if you approve of porn]: Pornography doens't only
