Can anyone tell me how to load McAfee Security Suite 2006 which supports ME?
Everytime it comes up with an error. And the same when I try to uninstal. I
am trying to instal this a friends sytem and now in a Catch 22 state and
unprotected for Interent useage.

David Lipman can help you, but frankly newer versions of McAfee and
Norton will not work with WinME. In particular, Norton won't at all.

Go to WinME General and they will tell you basically the same, but I
would suggest you return it to wherever you bought it and download a
freebie like AVG or AVAST or even EZ Trust.....they work WAY BETTER!!

I use EZ Trust on both WinME and XP. I have a link for a free EZ Trust
for a year if you want it. First one that Mike recommends.

(from Mike Maltby, MS MVP).........there's nothing much wrong with any
of the following all of which are Win Me friendly.
eTrust from Computer Associates. Free one year offer via
http://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM/Storefront/Company/caconsum/staticContent/PYPCtrialUS.html
AVG Free from Grisoft (http://free.grisoft.com)
Avast! from Atwil (http://www.avast.com/)

Good luck....and make sure you get all of the McAfee remnants out of the
computer first.

McAfee no longer supports WinME so I doubt that a 2006 version of McAfee will
support it.

If it is a semi-installed state and it can't be removed, I strongly suggest
asking for help
in the McAfee Forums...

Have you ever installed any other security software? Or changed the root of
system?
