Had problems last week with what turned out to be false positives by AVAST.

I now have been getting "tmcomm failed to start" , system cannot find file
specified errors. A "google" only reveals limited info about this error but
it appears to be related to Trend Micro. The only place I have Trend Micro
files installed is in the Multi A/V removal tool the Sophos portion of which
I could not get to work properly.

I could not find uninstall/removal instructions for C:\AV-CLS, presuming
that this folder and the contents are the cause of the problem. The folder
doesnot showup in in Add/Remove and does not show in CCleaner uninstaller.

Perhaps the error is caused by something else. I don't know what else it
could be. Help would be appreciated. I don't have any symptoms to provide
other then the error message in event viewer that I check regularly.

I hope this is the right place to ask the question...anyhow it all started
here.

D.

There is no entry for MULTI_AV in add and remove because it is not
"installed". Everything is in the AV-CLS folder- there are no Reg. entries
or anything in start-up.
Just delete the folder.
