Can anyone tell me what to do about this virus. I ran a scan and my Avira
AntiVir detected this so I quarrantined it. I tried sending it to AntiVir but
it won't let me. It also seems to have hijacked my browser. It looks like
spyware. What can you recommend to remove this?

I'm getting hit with several spyware removal programs but i know what that
is, so I'm ignoring it. Any help is appreciated.

Win XP Pro SP2

Thank you!

Since that name is AntiVir's own label, and it is a very new one (added to
the defs only two days ago) there is no cross-reference to names that other
antivirus apps might use for the same trojan. And since antivir doesn't
appear to have any library of info on their site, it makes it very difficult
to know exactly whaat trojan it is and how it works.

I don't understand your second paragraph. Do you mean that you are getting
repeated, uninvited prompts from some site(s) to install and run their
antispyware apps? Those are bogus and you are right to ignore them. But you
*should* run a number of legitimate scanners to see what else might be
active, and to possibly (probably) detect what changes have been made to
your system (BHOs, for instance.) I suggest you start here:
http://aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm

Be very careful to follow the procedures there as they are written.

Thanks for the info. And I'll try your suggestion. As for the second
paragraph, yes i am getting pop up type advertising, some of which looks as
of it's coming from Microsoft. but I think it's all bogus so I'm ignoring
them all.

Thank you again.
