I discovered (by installing McAfee AntiSpware) that a program called
c:\program files\codureus\ifsjlmon.exe is constantly seeking internet access.
This program does not exist using search (including displaying hidden files),
but has an entry in the registry under the key "Search Assistant". McAfee
doesn't find it a threat in Antispyware, as doesn't Microsoft Antispyware
Beta, but it's very annoying to see it popping up all the time - and causing
my browsing to be much slower. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and
know of a way of eliminating it? Thank you.
Mark.

Have you tried booting into safe mode (F8 and the white bar screen when
booting) and running your AS from there?
