Thanks

Running more than one malware scanner is a good idea,as far as malware goes
Norton is not all that good.
Here are some free scanners which have proven themselves to be effective.
Spybot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Ad-Aware SE - http://majorgeeks.com/Ad-Aware_SE_Personal_d506.html
MS Antispyware:

Not a scanner but it prevents crap from being installed to begin with.
SpywareBlaster - http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Actually no one application is completely effective at catching every malware
infector. So
the short answer is - Yes.

However, there are free anti spyware applications that can use to supplement NIS.

The following are suggested...
Ad-aware SE v1.06
http://www.lavasoft.de/
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

SpyBot Search and Destroy v1.4
http://security.kolla.de/

I also invite you to examine the information at Spyware Warrior
http://www.spywarewarrior.com

This web site will give you ideas of what are good software and what are
cosidered "rogue"
anti spyware applications. It also has a forum to discuss non-viral malware
infections.
