As others have posted, sometimes a hardware problem is only a hardware
problem. A keyboard is the easiest computer hardware problem of all to
diagnose and fix.

#1. Try the suspect keyboard on a known good system.
#2. Try a known good keyboard on the suspect system.
#3. If the keyboard IS the problem, then the above test will confirm.
#4. If the keyboard IS the problem, try the three part solution below:

Part I
Unplug the problem keyboard, turn it upside down, rap the edge on
your desktop (skip this part if the keyboard is part of a laptop).

Part II
Clean the keyboard thoroughly by brushing, vacuuming, and wiping
with a suitable cleaner.

Part III
If Part I and Part II do not change the operation, replace keyboard.
If the keyboard is part of a laptop, and Part II does not solve problem,
check warranty, then replace keyboard. A replacement keyboard for most
laptops will be under $100 US (plus labor) if not in warranty).

[Keyboard problems can be caused by bad connector, bad cable, dirt and grime
inside keyboard, liquid in keyboard, corrosion in keyboard, keyswitch
failure {mechanical or electrical}, electronic circuitry failure...
Fortunately keyboards start at less than $10 US.]

Please let us know your result.
