If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I am having the exact same problem, how did you get the fix to work?

As in thye thread you referenced, WINSOCK may be damaged.

Try LSPFix tor remove any LZP Plug-Ins. -- http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

You also indicated you are using WinXP SP2.
You can alternatively try the WINSOCK reset command by opening a Command Prompt
and typing
the following command line...

netsh winsock reset

Then reboot your PC.
