How can I disable the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool from running
on all of my customers computes. I use an excellent remote support product
from www.radmin.com. From time to time this product is removed from my
customer's systems.

Does the removal tool create a log entry showing which files it has removed?

How can I either:
1) Tell Microsoft not to remove this product.
2) Disable Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool to prevent me losing
contact with my clients.

Please help, thanks in advance.

The utility is...
%windir%\system32\MRT.exe

Command line switches...

/? or /HELP = displays the command line switches
/Q = quiet
/N = detect only
/F = force extended scan
/F:Y = force extended scan and automatically clean infected files

The following is the resultant log file...

%windir%\Debug\mrt.log

I find NO problems in allowing it to run each month. Each month is a new
reviosion using
new signatures. It is a decent "On Demand" scanner and will happily coexist
with any other
vendor's fully installed AV product.

I don't think MSRT is doing that (there'd have been a storm of protest
if so!). More likely some other 3rd-party tool is highlighting RADMIN
as a threat, or an online scanner or some kind.

Many antispyware and some av scanners will list RADMIN as a remote
access risk, with the suggested action as "ignore" or "ignore once".
The offered options on what to do will range from "delete" and
"quarantine" through to "whitelist" or "add to exceptions".

In contrast, MSRT will detect and remove only certain known malware,
and won't list other things or give options on what to do with them.

Your users should be aware that RADMIN is a tool you need, and thus
would leave it alone. OTOH, if they're unaware that it is there,
and/or decide they don't want it, then I'd expect it to disappear on a
regular basis, ulong with any other suspect/unwanted software.
