If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options I am a little scared by all the detail involved but think I may have fixed
the problem (fingers crossed)
What I discovered was VSMON.EXE was running a marathon on my cpu it also
seemed to be in battle with ie explorer. I know this to be associated with
adaware and totally deleted adaware (as per their instructions} then re
installed after turning off system restore.
I thank you both as I have some pretty cool programmes on board now.
Just hope this "thing" doesnt come back.
