Norton 360 or Internet Security? Dreamer 07-31-2007

Hello all.

Wich of those two do you recomend? I know Norton Internet Security has more
options of configuration, Norton 360 does not allow you to modify
anti-virus, for example, you can't verify a single file or a folder. But
the anti virus is there, and it promises to verify everything, a pen drive,
for example.

My question: Is Norton 360 as reliable as Norton Internet Security?

Thanks in advance.

Dreamer.

Neither. Norton and McAfee security products are dreadful. Recommended
antivirus programs are NOD32, Kaspersky, or even Avast if you want a
free one. The XP SP2 built-in firewall is adequate for most people.

visit this site

in search type Anti-virus it would give you option to choose among the list
and look out for the best rating other users provided

Actually, unless Windows Marketplace has seriously cleaned up their act
and are no longer listing known rogue spyware programs and the like,
that would not be good advice for the OP. Even if Marketplace is better
now that only gives the OP more choices. I would not look to that venue
for recommendations. The OP posted to the correct place.

Addendum: I just took a look at the antivirus/security listings at
Windows Marketplace and they are a mix of great and awful programs with
no way for an end user to tell the difference (on the pages were I
looked, all have the same "star" rating). I understand that you need to
tout Microsoft products and services, but I certainly wouldn't recommend
Windows Marketplace as a solution to the OP's question.
