The time has come to renew my subscription to Norton 2005.
I had a lot of problems with it at one time (now seems to be cured) of not
being able to download emails. And it does seem to have a lot of processes
running. Is this slowing up my computer?

What about other applications?
Particularly best value for money.

Check out the following link for some free offers:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/downloads/default.mspx

I use a number of AV packages and I like the simple CA eTrust product and
using this link you can get it free for 12 months!

Symantec's home edition of their AV software is the devil. There's no other
way to put it. It infects your entire machine, slows it down to a crawl, and
barely works (if at all).

You're best off trying out the free solutions from Grisoft
(http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1), Avast (http://www.avast.com/), or paying for
what is in my humble opinion the best AV software out there for a home user,
Kapersky (http://www.kaperskylabs.com/)
