Per the instructions offered to another OP regarding derivative
questions, I am looking for some recommendations on a Newsgroup Reader
and thus starting a new thread.

I am using Thunderbird presently and its ability to subscribe to and
read newsgroups.

Is Thunderbird secure [enough] or would something like the XNews be a
better (and safer/more secure) reader client? What other clients are
well-liked in this community?

TIA,

PB

Thunderbird is a email client, just like OE.

Try Super Gravity or one of the other Free Usenet Clients.

Yes, I know, have known for years, but, TB has had it's problems also,
although nothing like the evil OE.

Usenet clients do a better job and they don't suffer from the two-headed
problem.

I don't think security comes into it at all. If your computer is
properly protected (antivirus, firewall) and you are practicing "Safe
Hex", use whatever newsreader/email client you like.
