Hello experts,

My AtGuard firewall pops up every time I connect to the internet (I'm
using DHCP).
I've scanned my computer for trojans with no results.

When I connect I get 2 alerts one after another:
- First alert: An outbound ICMP is being attempted. Application: N/A.
Remote address: [My recent IP Address]
- Second alert: An outbound ICMP is being attempted. Application: N/A.
Remote address: [My new IP Address]

When I disconnect I get one alert:
- An outbound ICMP is being attempted. Application: N/A. Remote
address: [My recent IP Address]

So, it seems to me that something is trying to keep track of IPs when
it is being changed. I always block these attempts but I wander what
they are.

Do you have any idea what is it?
Since application is N/A, do you know any windows service that might
do that?
Why on earth my machine would like to ping itself?

Thanks in advance,

Meni.

Wild guess here, but I will bet $5 Cdn that it is your ISP pinging you.
Back when I used Zone Alarm, I used to catch them doing it. Phone them
and ask.

Cheers......Heather

Except...
"An outbound ICMP is being attempted" not an inbound.
