Hello there Mr. Pandaman
Can you tell me why your website tried to charge me £85 (GBP) for Platinum
internet security suite 2006 when it's only £28 (GBP) at
http://www.aria.co.uk/ (go "Quickfind" | Software | and scroll down a ways,
to the software section) for the retail version ? I only went there to
find out how much it would cost, I've just downloaded the trial version
again to take another look at it, because several reviews claimed that it
was the only internet security suite that did a good job of cleaning up
everything properly, in a test machine that had been infected with all sorts
of virus and spyware infections.
regards, Richard

Are you serious Richard ?
Do you really think the News Group responder with the handle "Panda_man"
actually represents
the company ?

If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options ...that was quick ! :-)
Not really :-) but, on a thread in a NG somewhere, someone put to him, in
passing, that he had a 'vested interest' in Panda Software - so who knows ?
...and seeing as he's very defensive about it, he might know.

Well it is obvious that Panda is his *preferred* AV application like McAfee
Enterprise (not
the retail version) is mine.

If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options I liked some of the design features in Panda, e.g. realtime scanner loading
early at boot-up but, I didn't like the processing overhead it placed on my
ancient Socket A xp2600/768mb ddr333/166mhz fsb machine, ...which is no
slouch - even though it's practically an antique, ...even Norton a/v didn't
slow it up like Panda did.
I've just spent the afternoon reading up on anti-spyware progs, and a number
of respected reviewers kept, (annoyingly), praising Panda software's succes
rate at early detection and successful treatment of spyware infections.
ZA internet security suite, which I'm going to have to buy tommorrow, (my 15
trial days is almost up), fared not too well in the anti-spyware department
! ...and it's been SO well behaved, I'm tempted to avoid all that
uninstalling / tidying up / resintalling / and reverting to more time
consuming security procedures etc.
