I have just allowed MS to install this tool, I was as pressurized by the MS
notices on my computer. However, I has somewhat persuaded by the following
license term:

"If you choose, the software's reporting functionality can be disabled by
following the instructions found at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=39987"

So I followed this link, but it just lead to other pages of computer gobbledygook
with no clear instructions on how to disable the reporting feature.

Hoe do I disable the reporting feature?
How do I control the running of this software?
How do I uninstall this software?

At last:

Subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\MRT
Entry name: \DontReportInfectionInformation
Type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1

Yes I know, but there is no explanation there on how to disable the MS
reporting feature. To do that you will have to edit the registry.

or just block its internet access on your firewall :). It is a small part of
my defence network(zone pro(spyware scan disabled), symantec antivirus, and
pest patrol and its related scanners resident with spybot and multi-av both
run from the command line in safe mode on a weekly basis). I have closed
MSRT's access to the internet, so I just get log entries when it is blocked,
this maybe the way to go if you are not comfortable hacking the registry.
