Since running the latest version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool, I
have had a problem using hyperlinks in email messages. I found a fix on the
Microsoft website for the problem (edit the URL: Hypertext Transfer
Protocol), but every time I shut down and then restart my computer, the
problem crops up again and I have to re-fix it.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Could you please describe the problem you're having with hyperlinks in email
messages ? Are you unable to create hyperlinks in emails ? Are you unable to
click on hyperlinks in emails ?

Matt

Add to Matt's query if it is just occurring IN email or does it happen OUTSIDE
email.

The MRT is just an "On Demand" Internet worm scanning tool and has a limited
target list.
It should NOT affect the OS unless a particular worm (ie., SDBot) has actually
made the
modification. We can gleam more about this situation if you copy and paste the
MRT Log
file.

Execute;
notepad %debug%\Debug\mrt.log

Copy and Paste (preferably) or attach the log file in your reply.
