A file called MSWin-1587685731.exe (6656 bytes) has suddenly appeared on my
startup list. I have no idea why. Does anyone recognize this program?
Could it be a virus?

I am aware of the presence of this program only because I run Win95, and the
program fails on Windows startup "linked to missing export".

Thanks for any information.

A Google search for "MSWin-1587685731.exe" brings up nothing, which is a
strong indication that it may be malware. Since you have Win95, cleaning
will be problematic and possibly difficult. There's no way for me to say
for sure without seeing the machine. In the meantime, remove it from
your startup list.

Still running Windows 95? You sure like to get your monies worth
out of your computer.

Anyway I thought there are probably some online scans that work with
Windows 95 but they all seem to state Windows 98.

Chances are if it works under Win98, it will work under Win95.
