If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
7 different customer locations have been calling us with the same problem.
Internet explorer closes right after opening it.
We remove all BHOs, Tool Bars and Shell extensions with a script and problem
goes away.
No security sites reporting this yet.

What change might have been made to all of those systems? Any patches or
new software installed recently?
Is there anything in your Windows event logs, and/or antivirus software
logs, relating to this?

I removed all Internet Explorer Toolbars & Hooks etc.. Turns out it was the
Yahoo Tool bar that is causing the problem. Remove the Yahoo toolbar from
Add/Remove programs and the problem is fixed.
I wonder how many millions of people this has affected.

Interesting... I had explorer drop, not internet explorer (had to use
FireFox as my main computer browser, couldn't open any windows from the
desktop), and that was yesterday only...
Likewise, my LAN went down as the router also hung without warning,
repeatedly. Both went away when I hard-coded the date as the 28th, and reset
it to normal today.
No Yahoo toolbar for me, though... I just figured it was '98 saying "Replace
me! I'm old and want to retire!"
