There is an update for Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 8
It is highly recommended for you to update and use the latest version

Installation Instructions
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/jre/install.html

Download
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

After installing it you'll have two entries in Control panel -> Add/Remove
Programs. Make sure you remove the outdated build as soon as you are
satisfied the updated build is working !

Figured they would release their update soon. Never got a reply from
Java on what was up with R5U7 in regards with what the users with R5U7
not R5U6 should do, but I guess this solves the problem.

Wait a minute... R5U8 isn't available on their main download page!

What's up with this?

Neither is 7, which was the last. They removed it and went back to 6.

v 8 is The Java SE Development Kit (JDK), so there are extra functions.
