If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Desktop Icons do mot open programs. On rare occasions they do. Tried all
kinds of spyware and virus which helps but dose not fix. Following Security
updates will not load.Security Update for Windows XP (KB905414)

Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1
Security Update for Windows XP (KB924667)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB899591)
