Hey all,

Received mail while at the end of my shift (working from home until 3am).
Tiredly, I read the contents about how Microsoft had a new urgent update.
Sleep-deprived as I was, I downloaded the file & continued on my way.
Stupid? Yes. But thankfully my scanner caught it before it did any harm. The
file's listed as "Installer81.exe", only deposits a worm, and seems to have
been sent to "MS User".

That should'a raised an alarm... meh. I was tired.

Anyway, my point in this long-winded ramble is to keep a watchout. If they
don't know you by name, and you don't know them enough to trust a download,
it's like candy from strangers. Don't touch.

Microsoft NEVER emails updates. MS doesn't send
attachments.

MS does have security newsletters that you can subscribe to,
but they just tell you about the updates and direct you to
use Microsoft Update.
