I am using Windows XP pro, 2nd, service pack.

For some reason, I am now unable to see my hidden files and folders,
even though I was able to a short while ago.

Under folder options I have selected "Display the contents of system
folders" and "Show hidden files and folders" However they are not
visible.

I strongly suspect some sort of virus or Trojans, but attempts to
clean the problem has not helped.

Any advice? Thanks.

It does sound like it could be a trojan of some sort, trying to hide itself,
although I'd think you'd see more symptoms. What scans have you run, with
what utilities?
What antivirus software do you run (and have you been keeping it updated)?

Check out http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware
for starters.

I run Spybot, adaware, and AVG virus; and all are up to date. Will
they have found problem during their execution, they have not solved
this problem.
