Can anyone help? My PC fails to start up. 6 months ago it was taking
several hours to boot up so its been left on since then. Couple days
ago I had to switch off due to a prob and now it doesnt start. Monitor
stays on stand-by and hard drive doesnt spin up but does get warm. I
stuck the drive into another pc to test it and it appears to work
(although some folders were missing). Friend suggests I remove and
replace display card (nil result) and try 'clear CMOS' on motherboard
(nil result). The CD drive is working and I have tried the hard drive
on the same IDE/power conectors but still nothing. I dont know a lot,
enough to get myself into trouble, but will try any suggestions you
might have. Any ideas please.

It is suggested that you take your computer to a reputable professional
computer store and let IT specialists have a look at it . Many things could
have happended to your computer (virus infiltration/hardware failure) so it
is best to have someone diagnose it.
