Hello.

Special Offer for Microsoft Customers: 6 Month Free Trial Subscription for
F-Secure Anti-Virus!

How does F-Secure Anti-Virus 2006 stand up against, CA's eTrust EZ
Antivirus, AntiVir ( free) and AOL's Active Virus Shield?

Which application would you employ?

TIA.
Cheers...............Kayman.

Since I don't like any of the alternatives you mentioned, I'd have to
say... I don't know.

Recommended av's are Kaspersky, NOD32, and Avast if you must go free.

F-Secure uses the Kaspersky scan engine (plus other scan engines as
well), so it offers top notch detection. Try it and see if you like it
or not. I see it's the "plain vanilla" version of F-Secure that's
being offered rather than the full blown security suite.

Since I prefer "plain vanilla"and top notch detection, I like AVS. In
principle, the F-Secure offering should have slightly better
detection. It would actually boil down to user preference based on
their like/dislike of the UI, and whether or not they feel the
realtime av is bogging down their machine. I dunno off hand how
F-Secure compares to AVS in terms of resource efficiency. I suspect
F-Secure might be somewhat slower.
