Well, this has been fun. Many if not all of the EL newsgroups have not shown
a post since 12/8. I called them about it and they said they knew about the
problem, but had no date by which the problem could be fixed.

As far as I can tell, the NGs have become a oneway street. Post but not
recieve. If anyone has responded to my recent post on my Magic Mail passwd
quesion, you can contact me at sierra _ mtnview -AT- earthlink net. It now
appears that the password item on the File menu is completely unreleated to
my problem with trying to access the EL mail server. It seems since I
changed my EL login passwd, there should be a way to communicate this to
Magic Mail. Maybe not. Anyway, MM will not get past a passwd problem when I
try to access the server.

(snippage)

None of this has anything to do with viruses under Microsoft operating
systems. If by "EL newsgroups" you mean newsgroups hosted by Earthlink
(presumably your ISP and newsgroup provider), you can access the
Microsoft newsgroups by using the Microsoft news servers directly:

msnews.microsoft.com

No username or password is required.

Accessing the MS newsgroups in Outlook Express Newsreader
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroupsetup.mspx

In any case, the Microsoft newsgroups aren't the correct place to post
questions about Magic Mail. You should contact whoever makes Magic Mail
for support of their program.
