You should always assume that any advice you get from Usenet, as you're
just reading Usenet through a MS portal, is bad, always.

Usenet, which is where this post really exists, is global and is only
filtered for SOME content and some abusers, it's not monitored at MS's
portal for it. I'm sure that some "limited" monitoring by automated
means is done, but each post is not watched by a person.
This is actually Usenet and MS just has a web portal to it, like many
others, including Google Groups. Web portals are almost always the worst
way to access Usenet - it's been around since 84, longer than the "web".

That's what Usenet is for - Communicating around specific topics and
sharing information - it's very good for that.

Now you've lost my respect - taking advice, even if it's good, from a
known hack/pirate that host PORN on the website he directs people to.

Actually, many people care and do look for them - any of them that cause
loss are investigated, but the methods people use to track them down, if
effective, are not going to be published - why give them an
understanding of how they expose themselves so that they can better
hide?

He's got a nack for taking others works and making people think he's
helped them instead of giving credit to the real author of the work.
It's like if you want to buy a gun, you can get the gun from a legal
source or a source that you're not sure about, that may not seem
illegal, but, you have to visit a place that's known to violate ethical
standards to get to that person - and they are the ones that makes it
violate ethical standards... I'll stay away from those placecs.
