If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options Take out the HD and slave it to yours and copy the files he wants, then
reinstall it back and using a jump-drive, copy back his files once you've
reestablished the OS. - instead of "slaving", you could also just unhook
your CD drive and put his drive there to copy, saving you the trouble of
"jumpers".
