If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Just to ask... how's that going so far? Got the problem over, or not?
Otherwise, my other (two-bit) suggestion for older / out-of-warranty /
second-hand PCs is to get an old HDD, install a cheap/free OS on it, and
load on system tools for when the "box goes bust". Only plug it in if the
main drive's kaput, with the main drive on secondary. Then you can at least
check to see if it's hardware or software.
Advised; new-computer owners or those with warranties still intact are -not-
advised to do this...
