I really don't know too much about computers, I just bought one to have e-
mail to stay in touch with my family while I'm out on the road. The other
night I tried to connect to the internet over a wireless signal, but it
wasn't one i normally use, and now about the last 3 or 4 times I've gotten on
the internet, as soon as i sign on I get an alert that an attack was just
blocked. I've figured out how to see what was blocked and it says it was the
bla trojan horse. I have no idea what that is, but I would like to know if
there is a way I can stop getting that sent to my computer.

You don't say what program gave you the alert, but I assume it was a
third-party firewall - ZoneAlarm, Norton, etc. The firewall is doing
its job.

You have probably picked up this Trojan and your firewall is blocking its
attempts to allow unauthorized access to your computer.
I suggest you do a complete system scan with an up to date Antivirus program
(you should have one installed).

If you don't have one install try one of the free online services such as
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

For more information about this Trojan look here:
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.bla.trojan.html

However this is a little technical so don't worry just make sure your
Antivirus program cleans it out.

Let us know how you get on

well, my computer came with norton, and i have updated it once already (only
had the computer for about 2 weeks) and i scanned it twice today, coming up
with nothing. I downloaded spyware doctor earlier today and scanned my
computer once with it as well, also turning up nothing. i was just curious
as to why in the last 2 days norton has blocked the trojan 4 times........
i'm hoping it has nothing to do with the fact that i signed up for e-mail
with yahoo, (i think i'veheard some bad things about yahoo) but then again as
i said earlier i'm pretty ignorant when it comes to computers and the
internet..etc. but i appreciate the responses.

It is more than obvious that Norton is blocking the attack. You probably
connect via public network which is quite unsecure.Make sure Norton is always
up-to-date because ^Norton's power^ is in its definitions....

As Mr.Bugbruva told you may scan your computer with the free online scanners
that belongs to other companies. They are all better than Norton so you may
just scan ,it is FREE.

http://www.activescan.com

This is link to Panda Software's free Active Scan which will scan your
computer for ALL kind of threats for FREE.

The scanner detects cookies which is not threats,so if the scanner detects
cookies ,don't be afraid.:)

Microsoft has made special software which is antispyware tool .It is free
for its legal clients with geniue clients so you may download it ,and update
it then. Also it is still in Beta ,it is stable and very good in real-time
