Hi,

My boss is reading my and everyone else's email and uses the
information he extracts from the emails to come up with "improvements"
He is not discrete about it.

What I would like to ask is, if there is some application or easy
method to neutralize this ?

I am not interested in ruining anything but I want to block him from
reading my mails or just making it difficult. I am running outlook
client Sw and on the server end it is Exchange 2000.

How about not using your work email for things you wouldn't want your
boss to see? You apparently have a hotmail account, use that when you
want to make jokes at the boss's expense.

In most countries this is a legal problem and most likely you've signed
in your contract that all your emails belongs to the company. So he has
the right to read your e-mail. It sucks but that's the way it is. He has
the right to survey your work and check whatever you do. If you don't
like it, try to talk to him about it. If you just try to block emails
from him or encrypt them, he won't like it. Depending on your contract I
think this could be a reason to fire you...

So talk to him about it and else try to find a way to solve that
properly for all employees which could mean in the worst case to change
the contracts of everyone to reflect e-mail handling policies...

As I said in another posting, I work in computer security. I have some
simple advice for you:

1) Don't write anything in a email that you do not want you boss to know.
2) DO NOT use hotmail, yahoo as usually these resources are AGAINST company
policy and can get you termed.
3) Do not try to bypass your company's security policies as this will
seriously piss off your security department and could get you termed
4) When you go to work, work....Believe me, there is not to much you can do
that can not be traced if you have people who are even minorly talented.
