Hi,

As far as security is concerned what difference does it make if the
site is hosted on Windows or Linux servers ? Which would be more
secure.

Any inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks.

"That depends". Primarily, it depends on the skills of the person running
the system. Both Windows and Linux can be made secure, and both can be
made insecure. Windows defaults to having a lot more services running and
interconnected by default, because the expected skill level is virtually
zero. Some Linux distributions are more simple to run than others, but
they tend to require more knowledge than the equivalent Windows computer.
This _tends_ to mean that the person running the *nix (not just Linux, but
also FreeBSD/NetBSD/OpenBSD and the 38 "branded" UNIX as well) will have
more computer skills.

You are posting from groups.google.com - which is a search engine. Did you
think about using that capability? Oh, and google is running Linux, not
windoze.

That might be a good document to start with. A normal Linux distribution
comes with nearly 450 documents like the above, the equivalent of over
11,400 pages of text - nearly 3.8 million words. The index and description
of these documents is

which you should be able to find all over the web.
