Yesterday I tried to load a page from a password protected web site of
mine. The security dialog popped up as usual but my stored user name &
password were gone. Its been several months since I asked IE 6.0 to
store my name & password for this site. Now the only way I can get
into my web site is by keying in my user name & password, but I'm
reluctant to do so since I'm afraid a key-logger has infected my
machine. But I remember reading some time ago (long before sp2) that
this is a Microsoft bug.

I'm thinking that the virus has deleted my stored username/password
info to force me to type my username & password into the dialog box so
that it may forward my keystrokes to the scum virus author. (it can't
read the encrypted password file.)

Can anyone tell me if this is a virus or a bug?

Regards,

Jack Martinelli
