L.S.,

I'm working for an SMB (single site, ca. 200 employees). We're
currently using Trend Micro products to provide the following functionality:
- anti-virus protection of workstations and servers
(OfficeScan and ServerProtect)
- virus-scanning mail relay and anti-spam
(InterScan Messaging Security Suite /IMSS)
- virus-scanning HTTP proxy and content filtering
(InterScan Web Security Suite /IWSS + URL filtering module)

One particular problem we're facing is that some of our users are unable
to use a proxy server for their daily work and can connect to internet
without a proxy, this way also escaping the company's internet usage policy.

We have already looked at some of the obvious vendors and found they all
have their own solutions
- Panda: BusinessSecure + GateDefender
- McAfee: Secure Internet Gateway + VirusScan Enterprise

But perhaps some of you have good/bad experiences with any of these
solutions and are willing to share them. Or perhaps you know of a web
filtering solution that can be installed 'transparently' in a network,
even filtering request for users who are not using a proxy.

Any comments on this are welcome,

Gert
