If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options

Indeed. Since good malware has no problem modifying the BIOS correctly, it
won't cause any uproar and therefore remain undetected easily.

Problem is that we don't know what is, so we can talk about assumptions at
best... in the meanwhile, I'd rather make sure that the BIOS cannot be
flashed without my consent.
