Is there any way to run NAV liveupdate as a non-administrator user to
retrieve virus definitions? We have many pc's out there that are out of
office location and set as limited user logons only to keep the peace.
Problem is mail and web access are installed and virus def's cannot be
updated w/o admin user logging in.
I've searched google for an answer but have come up emptyhanded as of yet.
I am hoping someone can help!
Thanks in advance.

Perhaps the utility psexec from www.sysinternals.com could be used to execute
the live update or you could use it to execute a script to download the
intellegent updater from NAV and execute it on a scheduled basis.?

If you use the enterpise edition of NAV (which is called Symantec
AntiVirus Enterprise edition) you do not need admin rights. The AV runs
as a service and has the rights it needs.
