Just back from the MS Security Summit in Philadelphia ap 05-04-2004

If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Not a lot of substance in the presentations. Discussion was basic. Some
examples of the topics.

Why you should use group policies
Why you should rename the admin account
The benefits of using strong passwords
Defense in depth, althought the MS line of thinking is wrong (use all MS
products)
Why a firewall is needed.

The whole thing lacked in content and depth. I guess this is the idea of
"serious about security". Attendance after lunch was about half from the
start. On the plus side I got CPE's and a good MS lunch

If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
one of the reasons I have limited attending these seminars. Most are a waste
of time and can actually be insulting in their simplicity.
