The final draft of ISO 27001 has been published. This is the eventual
replacement for BS7799-2, the ISMS standard.
The final version of ISO 27001 is expected to be available before the
end of 2005.
ISO 27001 has been published to 'harmonize' BS7799 with other
management standards, such as ISO 9000 and ISO 14000. It also builds
upon the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach, and directly aligns with
the recently published ISO 17799:2005.
