If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
How efficient is the -m option and its --timestop, --timestart and days
option option of IPtables?. Is there any other way to specify time
periods and days using IPTables??

"-m time" has no efficiency issues that I am aware of. An alternate is
to use the ROPE scripting language which allows open-ended manipulation
of time information in the packet matching logic..
