I teach CST for job corps. I have to give my students a verbal in which
they demonstrate that they can diagnose and remove virii. I can remove
NTLDR but that's a mild simulation, so does anyone know where I can
download a virus via HTTP? Can't use ftp as it is blocked by corp.

Perfect virus would be an older one that doesn't damage too much if
they don't get it out right away.

I´m not sure this satisfies your criteria but it tries to load all
sorts of things...

Why not use the eicar.com test pattern? That's what it's for.

christ. if you can't see why this is a bad idea, then i'd be worried.

Are you looking for a known virus, i.e. one that's already been
identified by AV vendors, and for which definitions have been supplied;
or are you looking for something unknown? If looking for something
unknown, maybe consider writing your own. If you don't have the coding
skills, maybe a fellow instructor with coding skills could assist. A
virus is simply a small program anyway. Writing your own would allow
you to control what actions the virus takes, and you could write in
your own kill switch so you could eliminate the virus on command if the
students didn't get to it quick enough. Or just write it so it can't
go too far in the first place.

Just some thoughts...
