HOW DO YOU ENCRYPT AN ENTIRE CD FULL OF UNENCRYPTED FILES? sportsprofits 02-27-2006

This may seem like a very elementary question but how would you encrypt
a CD containing, say, a folder which itself contained perhaps a
thousand small files which might be text, audio, or video?

I use Windows XP with all the latest patches, etc & service pack 2.

Every encrytion utility I've researched seems to have two flaws for
this project:

1) You have to encrypt every single file - and decrypt them as you view
them (which, I believe, would have to be done with something like PGP)
OR

2) The whole-disc encryption seems to be ridiculously easy to break (I
read that in a review for CD-Lock, for instance).

Has anyone used the product from Ashampoo? It apparently does what I
want, but how good is it?

In other words, I'm looking to transfer many files to a CD, then
encrypt the entire disc and then burn it - and then be able to enter a
password to decrypt that entire disc to view it's contents.

I'd be quite appreciative if someone could offer some suggestions.
Anyone wishing to can email me at sportsprofits@gmail.com. Thanks
again for any help offered.

Truecrypt isn't easily broken if you use a safe password. Simply create
a large enough Truecrypt volume, put the files inside, and burn the
volume to CD.
