Hi,

I have broadband (cable modem) connection to the net. Lately I had
virus attack, did virus check and so on, now, my net connection goes
through two "tunnels", IPCONFIG reveals that.

Or my broadband connection is from Comcast. Maybe, some anti virus tool
created some sort of firewall which I don't know, that SUBSTANTIALLY
slows down the net connection. But this seems quite unlikely, because
when I disable these anti-virus tools including Panda, AVG and avast,
the connection is still damn slow, check Windows Task Manager to see if
some of them is memory resident, can't tell (Task should have a column
to indicate "task first lanched date").

Also, I have VoIP service, but I had that before and connection was
speedy.

Another thing, my OS is XP prof, the ethernet adapter uses 4 drivers,
is that supposed so? Of which, 3 were provided by Intel while the
fourth one unknown, file version unknown and copyright unknown, seems
unusual.

What could be the hurdle?

TIA.

D.

You may be interested in an article that was referenced today on
Slashdot; it is titled "Why bandwidth should scare Microsoft," and it
may give people like you some hope for the future.
