Hello!

I deleted IE from my Windows 98 system. Now I cannot access Control
Panel or the Recycle Bin. If I try to access Control Panel I get
amesage saying: "An error has occurred in your program" If I click
the "ignore" button on that message box, I get a pop-up box reporting
"illegal operation".

I'm assuming that the above problem was caused by deleting IE, but of
course I'm not certain.

I tried reinstalling Windows 98 but it hasn't made any difference. I'm
desparately hoping I don't have to reformat my hard drive and renstall
the OS because I have hundreds of programs on the disk.

Anyone help me?

Ally

How did you delete IE - dir delete or the correct method (add/remove OR
IEradicate)?

Sounds like some linked .dll has been deleted or made corrupt - when these
error messages pop-up (if any) try to see what more info says and post the
results.

I'd reinstall IE then to rid IE download and run IEradicate to rid IE in a
safe fashion as IEradicate leaves certain files their that are 'required'
by Win98 and in future stay the hell away from M$IE ;)

Please post back how you get on - appreciated.

Kind regards
