"Security Engineering", Ross Anderson
"Practical Cryptography", Niels Ferguson and Bruce Schneier

(Whether those are "good" depends on what you're looking for, of
course.)

Hacking Exposed is pretty broad. Hacking Linux Exposed is more
focused on that OS if you'd like to focus more there, and gives more
specific examples in many cases.

The series; Steal this computer book 1- 4 will give you a general
understanding of security and it's aspects. Not too much computer
detail but it touches on everything from social engineering, to
phreaking and so on. Then from there you can pick more detailed
books. Are you looking unix, windows, switches, servers, home pc?
