Greetings, group!

I'm after a firewall for an old K6-2 400MHz laptop running Win98. I'm going
to be selling this laptop shortly, so I want it to be as easy to use as
possible, otherwise I'll wind up receiving no end of tech support calls.

I considered ZoneAlarm, but it really slows boot time down, and I've found
that newbies (real never-touched a computer before) can't quite figure out
how it works, even after it's been explained.

So I'm really after something like XP's built-in firewall, but for Win98.
Something that doesn't take ages to boot, sits in the background, and
prompts the user in a similar fashion to the XP firewall.

And to top it all off, it's gotta be freeware. I'll be making a loss on this
laptop anyway (been sitting around for too long), so I'm not going to spend
any money on it at all.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

There probably is no such thing.. Any firewall requires some intelligent
interaction with the user. Kerio 2.1.5 is very light and would probably
work fine on Win98, but it's not so easy to learn.
